Most of you would probably be flabbergasted to know that there is an educated 22 year old aspiring professional who has never owned or worn a suit before. I am going to go look for one tomorrow. I have a function that I would like to make a bit of a splash at. Well, not as much a splash as a statement of my character. But that's another thread.
I am not looking at some super-premium designer suit. I want a suit that looks good on me, fits me well, and doesn't break the bank. This will be The One Suit, as I've finished growing finally,.
1) How much do these things cost?
2) What does a proper suit consist of? I need the whole shebang, I don't even own dress socks. (though I may snake a pair of my roommate's shoes if they look too pricy)
3) Since this is a decision I just made, is it possible to be out the door with a suit I have purchased and had tailored in one day?
4) What are my best options for places to shop? Obviously, there's Men's Wearhouse, but I've heard more than a few men snub their noses at them. Is it poor customer service or poor quality or just people being snobby? Will an independant tailor be able to do the necessary alterations within the day?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
